I’m not gonna lie…fried chicken wings are sinfully delicious and I love them. I mean, I REALLY love them. I like them sweet, I like them spicy. I like them dipped in Bleu Cheese, and I like them dredged in Tzatziki. I could eat them in a house, I could…ok, ok. My point: I could eat my weight in chicken wings easily…and come back for more. But I just can’t wrap my head around eating that much fried food all at once any more. Maybe in my 20’s, but certainly not now. Besides, I don’t want to serve my kids a plate full of saturated fat for dinner.
So…I grilled ’em. And we devoured ’em. They were so good right off the barbecue, that I just had to share this recipe:
2 lbs Chicken Wings
2 Cups Honey
2 TBSP Sriracha
1 tsp Soy Sauce
1 TBSP Kosher Salt
2 TBSP Black Pepper
1 tsp Orange Extract
Juice and Pulp of 1 large Orange
1/4 Cup Sesame Seeds
2 TBSP Sesame Oil
1 Shallot, minced
3 Garlic cloves, minced
In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except chicken. Ensure that your sauce thickness to your liking (We like it thick enough to coat the spoon when mixing).
Add chicken wings, making sure each wing is nicely coated in the sauce. Marinate for 30 min (up to 24 hours).
Transfer to hot grill. Grill for 7-10 minutes per side.
